It is the first college in the Mumbai
University winning the Indira Gandhi National Award for
the Best NSS Unit in the year
1998-99.
Ø Dr. Anil Kamalakar Patil NSS
Programme officer of the college was also judged as Best NSS Programme
officer for Indira Gandhi National award.
Ø College has been awarded Best
College NSS Unit by the Government of Maharashtra for
the year 1998-99. Programme officer Dr. Anil K. Patil was also
selected as Best NSS Programme officer at the State level.
Ø Prasad Narendra Amrute received Best NSS
Volunteer University level award from University of Mumbai in academic
year 2019-20.
Ø Prof. Advait Chandrakant Ghatpande received Best NSS
Program officer award from University of Mumbai in academic
year 2019-20.
Ø Our College NSS Unit also received
Best NSS Unit at District level Indira Award from University of Mumbai in
academic year 1998-99
Ø A National Integration Camp was
successfully organized by the college 1st January 1999.
Ø

Universities from the country, from Kashmir to Kanyakumari participated in the
camp. A unique Programme of integration of campers with local students was
adopted where participants of the camp stayed with one local student for a day
to know his family, village, culture and social profile. It was highly
appreciated.
Ø NSS volunteers of the college
have rendered a very good service at the time of flood situation in the Raigad
district in June 1989. Volunteers were involved in cleaning, reconstruction of
houses and rehabilitation of flood affected people from Jambhulpada, Nagothane
to Poynad in Alibag taluka under the leadership of NSS Programme officers the
then Dr. Anil K. Patil , Prof. Avinash Oak and Prof. Surendra Datar .
Ø Volunteers and NSS Programme
officer Dr. Anil K. Patil was involved in the rehabilitation of earthquake
affected people in Bhuj, Gujrat in the year 2001.
Ø One volunteer Mr.
Milind Magar was selected for Pre R. D. camp at Porbandar in
Oct. 1998.
Ø College as given the leadership
in the form of Dr. Anil K. Patil as he has led the University , state and
country in various capacities
§ Contingent leader for the Pre-
R.D. camp organized at Porbander, Gujrat in Oct. 1998.
§ Contingent leader for Maharashtra
& Goa (Pune Regional center) for the National Republic Day Parade camp held
at New Delhi in January 1999.
§ Member of the Indian delegation
from Ministry of Youth and Affairs at Asia Region International consultation on
‘Family & Life skills Education for Adolescents.
§ Member of the Indian delegation
for the Asia region International workshop on ‘Youth and Human Rights organized
by Commonwealth at Mumbai in April 2003.
§ Contingent leader of Maharashtra
for ‘World Youth Peace summit’ organized by International
Association for Human Rights in Dec.2003 at Bangalore, India.
Ø As per guidelines of central and
state government for environment conservation and soft skills development
programme our college unit organized training programme to make cloth bags and
paper bags in collaboration with Jan Shikshan Sansthan, Alibag. Our college
occurs in coastal area where there are plenty of coconut trees so for
professional skill development and need of area we organized training programme
of plucking of coconut from coconut trees for the N.S.S Volunteers.
Ø In 2019-20 N.S.S Unit conducted
One day training workshop on assembly of solar lamp in
collaboration with IIT-Bombay.
In 2019-20 N.S.S Unit has
undertaken and successfully completed sericulture project which is useful for
volunteers, as they can implement such a project in their own fields.
